KDF Academy in Kachomo UG

Kachomo is a village in the Eastern District of Budaka, in Uganda.
Kachomo faces many changes from poor education, high rates of unemployment and a very poor standard of living which has created a high mortally rate.
The Eastern region of Uganda is a poor region where Kachomo is known as one of the poorest, this has created discrimination that is faced by people who come from the village which makes it hard for the village to be able to come out of the devastating poverty it is facing.
In light of this the Kasibo family both in Uganda and in the UK in collaboration with the talented guitar teacher Len Collins are building a vocational school that will showcase the musical talents and history of Uganda.
We have 4 courses to which we will offer students. One of which is music.
Len has written a high standard curriculum that will enable students to read music in a fast and unique way, this will give them the opportunity to become great musicians, song writers and or vocalists.

These guitars will give our students a hands on approach to their learning which in turn will ensure a high level of success in the course.

Nick Campling the founder of G7th: The Capo Company in Peterborough, has very kindly collaborated with the guitar makers Tanglewood, who are holding the guitars for us as soon as finances have been acquired.

We will be buying 18 guitars and sending them to Kachomo as soon as we can.
The school is due to open in February 2021, it would be wonderful if the students on the music course are greeted by these much needed instruments.
