Unlike many forms of art, dance does not leave behind a trail of physical artifacts like literature, written music, sculpture or painting. Nevertheless, it has been an important form of communication, bonding and expression.
Argentine Tango is one of those dances that has developed throughout history to it’s current form and most of us in the Los Angeles Social Dance World are lucky recipients of learning from the very best artists of their genres who share in the technique, the musicality to pass on to the next generation. These dancers who tour the world sharing their skills do it not for money but for their passion for the dance. One of our very own, the legendary Guillermina Quiroga and her partner Mariano Logiudice were recently robbed of their current tour savings, $4000.
By offering this special class that is open to beginners who are curious about Tango to advanced dancers, and to those who would like to donate, we are hoping to help them recoup some of their losses.
With so many events and with the holidays approaching many of us are short on funds - but we ask the Tango Community to show our generosity and our indebtedness to these artists who have trained a lifetime to help us pave our own dance destinies.
All proceeds with the exception of GoFundMe charges (roughly 8% + $0.30/donation) will be donated in their entirely to Guillermina and Mariano.
