Dear All,
Please help us support our dear friend Mila. She is the most giving, kind and and full of life person you can ever be fortunate enough to know. She is an amazing mother and friend. Over the past 15 years, Mila had been helping children as a devoted Speech Pathologist. She is also a very talented artist. It is Mila’s greatest wish that her paintings inspire the viewer to find the hope, color, life and beauty in the darkest places in their lives. Unfortunatly, on July 30, 2014 she has come face to face with one of those dark moments as she was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. A month later, a mastectomy was performed at Memorial Sloan Kettering Center in Manhattan. After surgery, it was discovered that cancer has invaded two of her lymph nodes and chemotherapy will be necessary for optimum prognosis. Thus, this week the next part of her journey to recovery has began with first dose of AC with 7 more to follow every two weeks. The effects of chemo were a bit more debilitating than originally anticipated. A week of rest after every treatment is necessary. Unfortunately, she is not eligible for any disability insurance through work and has no option but to stay home without pay. She is a devoted mother who has to take care of her 8 year old daughter.
