Daniel J Cunningham memorial fund

Donation protected

As Daniel Cunninghams brother, I'm creating this fund to help offset his memorial cost. Daniel said good bye to all of us and went on a journey to a better place this morning, November 4th 2014, 11 days after his 36th birthday. He fought hard and courageously till his body had had all it could finally handle. He took his last peaceful breath on  this earth this morning here in Myrtle Beach SC surrounded by family.

We are extremely heartbroken over his passing. He was a deeply caring and selfless brother as well as a beloved son. He was the kind of freind that could tell a joke and make you laugh till you were in utter hysterics or blue in the face. He was about  as passionate and as loyal as they come. Dan was differant then most and he'd be the first to tell ya he didn't give a damn about it. Thats just the way he was. It definitely made him special. He lived his life, and life lived him. That was my brother, a son, nephew, uncle, and friend and he was fine with that. I'm sure you can remember many of times around him that he'd put a smile on your face or make you laugh hysterically. It was truely what he loved to do. That was one of his major joys in life. It seemed he aways had a funny smerk on his face, immediately incriminating himself and revealing that he was about to do something funny and it was probably at your expense. His laugh was also intoxicating, and I don't just mean because it probably smelled of beer. You could count on if you heard him laughing most likely there were many others surrounding him following  suit and the stories and jokes being told could go on for hours without hearing the same one twice. I can't tell you how many times someone would look at me and say "where does he get this stuff from" or "you just can't make this stuff up". He truely had a natural  talent to entertain.

One of my brothers dying wishes to me was to promise not to forget him or let him be forgotten. So please, I ask that while you are reading this help me forfill one of his final request by just thinking about a special time you shared with Dan, keeping him alive in your thoughts. I know he's looking down from heaven right now and sharing it with you.  I know it means a lot to him. Furthermore,  I'm also asking for your assistance  in helping to raise the money needed to give him the proper memorial service he deserves. I ask that you  PLEASE DONATE TO THIS CAUSE IN LIEU OF SENDING FLOWERS. Any left over proceeds will be donated back to the hospice he attended where all the essential care and life critical support they provided him with over these past 5 months was free of charge to him.  Because of his hospice we were blessed with being able to enjoy having him around for an extra 5 months. He was truely living on borrowed time, but this time was essential in making sure that nothing went unsaid and no loose ends went untied. Daniel had no medical  insurance and no income so getting him the medical care and treatment he needed was very difficult and costly. Your support of our family and celebration and reflection of Daniels life means so much to us.

Thank you all for your love and support. Our family is extremely grateful for your generosity during this difficult time.

Rest in peace Daniel
