This year is the 40th Anniversary celebration for Carnaval, so we want to have an especially great showing in the parade. It's also a chance to participate in an amazing and joyful experience with Tania’s Afro-Brazilian community. In 2016 we were the 1st-place winner in the Brazilian category!
We are very excited about the theme for our contingent this year: Xangô (an Orisha of strength, resistance, and justice). This will be a beautiful complement to the 40th anniversary theme: "Roots of Carnaval / Raíces del Carnaval."
Big thanks to the community who has supported us through the years. We would not be able to participate in Carnaval without you! This year our goal is to raise $5000 to cover our production costs. All donation amounts are welcomed - small and big ones!
