Growing Good Mental Health: Is It Working?

What we know: For over 50 years, Choice Theory psychology has spread through training, books, and a variety of others means. There are almost three dozen countries around the globe that actively continue this outreach. There are likely more, but we know for sure that 27 countries are organized and have a contact person. All of us, and we’re guessing there are hundreds of thousands, are amid a global pandemic that is challenging us in many ways, personally and professionally.

What we want to know: Is our knowledge of Choice Theory psychology helpful in grappling with the impact COVID has on our lives?

Our initial data gathered in the Spring of 2022 shows 85% of our people found knowing Choice Theory very helpful. That data and report can be found on our website, growinggoodmentalhealth.com. As we grow, we will need translators, web developers and other professionals to continue our quest of outreach to the global Choice Theory community. We know there are many ways to learn Choice Theory and want the world to be able to access these tools. Our role will be to search, find and support resources to teach the world how to grow good mental health.

As with any project like this, time and resources are being invested. The funds gathered here will support managing the project, web development, materials and tools for teaching and learning. As we continue to grow and learn, we will use this format to update our contributors and be transparent with our use of funds.

We’ve titled this project, Growing Good Mental Health: Is It Working? Eventually, we want the survey to access anyone and everyone who has attained this knowledge through formal training, reading a book, receiving counseling from someone Choice Theory certified, taken a class where Choice Theory was taught, or any other means. We will have much to share with over 50 years of teaching and learning. Let’s find out! Are you in?

Late August Update 2022: We now have nearly 200 voices from over eight different countries. Recently, we connected with the William Glasser International Member Organizations from Canada, Japan, Australia, Philippines, India, Morocco and Columbia! Translators needed!!
