Griffin's Girls

Donation protected
Our brother Griffin has passed away. As we grieve and process, sit with this anguish and despair, the word that everyone keeps using to describe him is "beautiful". I usually love words, but right now I hate them, because there is not one word or combination of words to express the goodness of his soul, or the searing pain of his loss. You know that someone was made of something a little bit differently than most when the only word that you can use to explain him is beautiful. When he came to help us hang drywall at The Backyard on Saturday, he was wearing a nice blazer and jeans. To hang drywall. The way that he dressed, the way that his slight frame could hug you like a 300 lb man, and his piercing blue eyes telling you "hey, I see you. And I care about you" are all things that brought light into the lives of those he loved. We've lost one beautiful soul, and it is going to take a village to fill his shoes. And we won't, but we must try. Griffin didn't have life insurance and I am unsure about health insurance. In addition to medical bills and memorial preparations, we have to take care of his girls. He took care of them well, so well that Shannon didn't have to work. What he would want us all to do is to love his girls so fiercely, so completely, that they have no need left unaddressed. That's how we honor him. We love you, Griffin  <3
