<div>i am jakob, a freelance artist working with video, performing arts and ritual. i am moved by questions about my own cultural origins ( northern german, european, white), my own and collective contradictions, shortcomings and entanglements within them and the search for a more wholesome culture of community and care against this background.

<div><strong>why this training?</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>grief is a part of life – it affects all of us. yet, in our society, there are few spaces where grief is acknowledged, held, and processed in a meaningful way. often, people are left alone with their pain, struggling to find understanding and support.
</div>
<div>my dream and will is to help create spaces where grief is not suppressed but embraced as a natural process of healing and transformation.
</div>

<div>the training at circlewise offers me exactly the knowledge and the tools to accompany people in their grieving processes not only empathically, but also professionally and well-founded. last november / december, i already took part in a large grief fire there. i was thrilled and very moved by how sensitively, lively and down-to-earth elke and aaron and the many assisting people organised and held this event; and also how they were able to provide a safe space for people from a wide variety of backgrounds (young, old, queer, bipoc, with children...). i appreciate their work for being clear in method, always updating scientifically and research wise, and bringing in topics like sustainability, power dynamics and social justice.

<div>the training extends over one year, there are three presence modules of five days each between march and october and the participation in two grief fire rituals.
</div>

<div><strong>why do i need your support?</strong>

<div>i normally finance my education through my work as a videographer and editor, primarily for artistic and cultural clients. due to the increasingly critical political, economic and social situation and the many economic cutbacks in the cultural sector, my income situation has become extremely uncertain and is not sufficient to cover the instalments and additional costs for this training.

<div>trauer ist ein teil unseres lebens – sie betrifft uns alle. doch oft fehlt es an sicheren räumen und begleitung, um mit verlust, wandel, persönlichem oder kollektivem schmerz umzugehen. in unserer gesellschaft gibt es nur wenige orte, an denen trauer als prozess bewusst gehalten und durchlebt werden kann. ich möchte dazu beitragen, genau solche räume zu schaffen.

<div>die ausbildung bei circlewise bietet mir genau das wissen und die tools, um menschen in ihren trauerprozessen nicht nur empathisch, sondern auch professionell und fundiert zu begleiten. im vergangenen november / dezember habe ich bereits an einem großen trauerfeuer dort teilgenommen. ich bin hellauf begeistert und sehr bewegt darüber, wie einfühlsam, lebendig und bodenständig elke und aaron und die vielen assistierenden menschen dieses ereignis gestaltet und gehalten haben; und auch, wie sie menschen mit unterschiedlichsten hintergründen (jung, alt, queer, bipoc, mit kindern...) sicheren raum geben konnten. dazu ist ihre vermittlungsarbeit methodisch klar, wissenschaftlich und in sachen recherche in steter weiterentwicklung und sie bringen themen ein wie nachhaltigkeit, machtkritik und soziale gerechtigkeit.

<div>das training erstreckt sich über ein jahr, es gibt drei präsenzmodule von jeweils fünf tagen von märz bis oktober und die teilnahme an zwei trauerfeuern.

<div>normalerweise finanziere ich meine weiterbildungen durch meine arbeit als videofilmer und -editor vor allem für künstlerische und kulturelle auftraggeber_innen. durch die zugespitzt kritische politische, wirtschaftliche und gesellschaftliche lage und die vielen wirtschaftlichen kürzungen im kulturbereich ist meine auftragslage extrem unsicher und reicht nicht aus, um die ratenzahlungen und zusätzlichen kosten für diese ausbildung zu decken.
