Greyson's Brain Tumor Surgery and Recovery

About 6 months ago Greyson started complaining of headaches, which was very unusual for our energetic then 6 year old. I brought him to the pediatrician's office to have everything checked out. We were told it seemed to be a sinus infection and was prescribed an antibiotic. Although he started to feel better the headaches persisted after going to the doctor 3 more times and taking antibiotics each time. After the 3rd visit we were referred to an allergist and was allergy tested (not fun). There were no indications of allergies, so a sinus CT was ordered. The sinus CT was clear, however it revealed a spot on his brain. He had a brain MRI done on April 2nd then we met with the neurosurgeon on April 4th where he explained to us that our son, Greyson has a brain tumor, not a colloid cyst that was mentioned in the radiology report from the sinus CT. The neurosurgeon said he is fairly certain it is a Choroid Plexus Papilloma but cannot be 100% sure if it is cancer (carcinoma) until it is removed and tested. Greyson is now scheduled for surgery to remove the tumor on April 29th.
As many people know, Ben, Greyson's dad works on a Tugboat. Unfortunately he cannot receive short term disability as dependents do not qualify. Due to Greyson's surgery and recovery time, Ben will be taking a leave of absence from work without pay. I am 31 weeks pregnant with our 2nd child and will need my husband's help to care both physically and emotionally for our son. We are not ones to ask for anything, but we realize the cost of doctor's visits, surgery, recovery, and household bills all without an income is going to be very expensive and difficult. We need the help.
