Gregg's Volcano Relief / Rebuild

Donation protected
Our good childhood friend Gregg Adams, was always in to horticulture, even back in the 70's and 80's, when we grew up in New York. Well,  he took that passion and moved to Hawaii to continue his dream.

Once in Hawaii,  over many years, he created a small farm that grew exotic fruits and plants. He traveled to very exotic parts of the globe, to bring these exotic delights to his farm, Dragonfruit Farms.

Well, unfortunately that dream became a nightmare when Mount Kilauea started erupting. Gregg stayed at the farm as long as possible and on May 30, I got this text, "She gone. New beginnings now!!!" The lava finally took the entire farm, which included his small home, crop and barn.

Since the loss, Gregg has been living with friends and basically surviving. As Gregg says, "I'm a warrior and will survive!"

Update to Gregg's story...

His farm/property has an original mortgage from Hawaiian farm bureau and even though his property has been ruined by lava - they will not release him from his loan and give him a new loan for a new piece of property. He must continue to pay his old mortgage even though his land is uninhabitable. State says there is no legislation currently that allows help to local private residents.

I say that is wrong for many reasons!

The state of Hawaii has received over $50 billion in federal disaster relief and none of the money has been directed to help any local resident - this is shameful.

We all need to contact the Hawaiian state senator and complain about this injustice.

Only 5 to 7% of the big island is covered w lava after this recent eruption. The state has plenty of land to get farmers back on their feet - but have to change legislation to add private relief to local disaster residents.

Here is a link to his story, as told by a local Hawaiian Newspaper.

Gregg's world has been turned upside down - he will get a new farm and rebuild his life - but for now he needs to fight the state over his old mortgage and clear him so he can move on and build a new farm.

We have a great group of generous friends that can help him live like a human again w contributions of any amount - if you can please consider a donation into the go fund me page set up here for our pal Greg Adams, we would appreciate such .

Gregg is a very easy going person, which helps given his current situations.

P.S. The attached pictures were taken by Gregg and yes, that's Gregg holding his prized fruit.
