**UPDATE January 2020**

At his last checkup Greg’s doctor in Lubbock, Dr. Paul Walter at Covenant Cardiology Associates ( https://www.covmedgroup.org/our-services/cardiology/  ) decided to continue Greg’s six heart medications for another six months.  These medications significantly impair Greg’s ability to function and hold a full time job.  With his part time job and social security he is still struggling to make ends meet but he is doing what he can to keep his head above water.

THANK YOU once again for all you have done.  Hope you have a wonderful 2020!

On September the 5th, 2019 Greg Lott fell while working outside.  First, he thought it was heat exhaustion and dehydration. However, his blood pressure and pulse were through the roof. He was taken to the emergency room and it was discovered his heart was in atrial fibrillation (AFib).

Greg had not been to the hospital since 1966 when he had his knee operated on from a football related injury.  After many tests it was determined that he had normal 73 year old plaque buildup in his heart.  The cardiologists decided to put him under anesthesia to make sure that there was no major blockage and the cardio conversion did not work to shock his heart back into rhythm.

The electric shock did not work.

The doctor also discovered an 80% blockage in an artery in the back of the heart. This is what caused the fall.  A stent was successfully installed to stabilize the artery.  The doctors have decided to try to administer medicine for 30 days to try to get his heart back into rhythm.

If that doesn’t work, an operation called a heart ablation to force the natural electrical impulse back into the proper channels. That puts the AFib back into rhythm.

then there will have to be another operation to open the artery to have the hearts natural electricity puts it back into rhythm.

This was a wake up call for Greg and he is enrolling into Medicare B&D in January enrollment.  He had never shown any signs of high blood pressure or heart problems in his life.  Greg has clean and sober for 32 years, he has counseled alcoholics and addicts all of these years.  He was the former quarterback of the longhorn Texas Football team. He is the best friend and romantic partner of Farrah Fawcett. They were a couple and friends for the last 11 years of her life.  He also supported Farrah throughout her cancer fight.

Any donations to heath problem would be greatly appreciated.
