What an awesome response. People really stepped up!!!
I'm pulling in NPR on you all. Meaning notice when they hit their goal for the hour they conveniently raise the goal:-)
Tried to get some actual numbers from Greenway on his expenses, but he's still pretty out of it. His recovery is expected to be 3 to 4 months. Wouldn't it be awesome if we had all his expenses covered for 4 months. He lives pretty cheaply. I know his rent is not terribly high. How about $2000 dollars a month for 4 months? I'm working with fellow good friend and Torpedo Factory Artists' Association Director Abbey McClain on this as Greenway doesn't have great banking access.

Greenway, an amazing self-taught oil painter and one of my artist coworkers at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, VA had a stroke or related episode on August 18. He stubbornly went into the hospital on Monday, August 21 where he was being treated for a stroke and some related bleeding and compression in his head.
He underwent a battery of tests that kept his neuro team confused. As the pain, bleeding, and problems persisted, it was thought that perhaps he didn't exactly have a stroke but some major head trauma.
He took a turn for the worse and underwent emergency brain surgery.
He's on a long road to recovery, but he is recovering. There's still a lot that is unknown but he is a fighter and we're all optimistic. He is recovering from a brain bleed and hoping the inflammation goes down.
As a self-employed artist, he has no insurance and no income when he is unable to work. We're raising money to help with his rent, bills, and recovery needs. Any amount helps.
