With the Puerto Rico health system on life support Greenwater Medical Assistance Team is coordinating a mission to Puerto Rico in order to do patient transport and transferral in an area where these normally everyday medical support roles are now almost nonexistent. These are American citizens and sadly some people seem to have forgotten, including some federal governmental officials.
Greenwater Medical Assistance Team is founded by a Disabled Combat Veteran, and staffed by a mix of veterans, and reserve component Soliders.
To date (09 November 2017, 3+ weeks after arrival in Puerto Rico) the GMAT has conducted searches/wellness checks, medical operations, and general relief support in: Aguada, Aguadilla, Arecibo, Caguas, Hatillo, Moca, Villalba, Ponce, Guayama, Corozal, and Carolina with 72 patients found/visited for exams & support, with partnership approximately 550 people fed hot meals, 170 provided bagged food and water, all while providing medical intelligence and coordination support for many larger operations, and more. We’ve established a mobile clinic that saw 32 patient families a day in mountain regions. We have been tasked to support the transport of medication between remote clinics; and was prepared to react to 100 stranded patients at the airport who fell victim to a fraudulent medical evacuation flights.
This started from just one medic, and one security team member on the ground with just a few bags on their back and expanded into a team with one of the most reliable, responsible names in disaster care in Puerto Rico, Greenwater Medical Assistance Team. Who’s then networked with outstanding volunteer groups like #UnitedSikhs#BoondockSAR #VeteranDisasterRelief #UnityWarriors, #ACTASaveOurPeople and many more.
We will be conducting Wellness Checks, patient transports, and general assistance in the area.
