Greenville Park Children's Play Structure

Donation protected
Help us replace our decrepit, decades old & just plain worn out children’s play structure at the Greenville Community Park (LP Park). Three slides simply fell apart and had to be removed years ago; hand-welded metal fences now block the slide openings. The equipment has not met playground standards for many years.

The park serves three very small, severely disadvantaged communities including Crescent Mills, Greenville and Taylorsville. The largest of the three, Greenville, lost 800 citizens in the early 2000’s; its current population is just over 1,100. The Indian Valley Community Services District (District), responsible for water, sewer, fire, parks & recreation services for the three communities, struggles to keep the park open with extremely limited staffing and volunteer labor.

The District is hoping to raise $25,000 to meet match requirements established for other grants, for a total project installation cost of $49,725, which includes removing the current structure, ground material and concrete enclosure. The target date for a community work party/installation is late summer/early fall.

Any additional monies would go toward other deferred park maintenance & upgrades including new basketball/volleyball nets, Pickleball court lines on the existing basketball court, and replacing rotted boards in the picnic ramada.
