Leh was the capital of the Himalayan kingdom of Ladakh. At 3524m above sea level, Leh is an increadibly difficult place to grow food during the winter. Due to climate change more crops are dying every year, trade routes are being destroyed by storms and families are being driven from their homes as a result. People who have lived humble lives and are now unable to sustain life in their homes and communities is something that has grabbed my attention, and I, with your help, am not going to be the next to ignore their plight.
The funds raised will go towards building greenhouses in these villages. Your donations will help the local communities grow their own food during the harsh winter months. The funds will also go towards my team's attempt to reach the summit of Stok Kangri (as seen above). This experience is set to develop my leadership and planning skills and put my physical and mental abilities to the test.
This expedition will take place in July 2019 and will be planned by the pupils of my school, QMGS. The expedition follows a four step plan; acclimatisation, Trecking, Project, R&R.
I would be extremely grateful for any donation towards this life changing experience and I can guarantee this will benefit the community of these villages as well as me.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my page and please give generously.
