Green Yellow Buses for MCPS

Every day, twelve hundred Montgomery County Public school buses drive the equivalent of more than four times the earth’s circumference.  I ride one of those buses.

The pollution emitted from these buses damages the environment and student health. I want to change that. I envision a world with abundant sustainable transport; and to achieve that I will create an electric school bus pilot program in my county. A few all-electric buses in the school system will allow the county to understand the benefits of zero emissions and hopefully lead to more transportation reform.

To do this, I need some inital funding so that I can spread the word about this transportation revolution and start a movement towards sustainability. Your contributions will help with things such as advertisements and events to raise awareness. I already have a matching grant from a partner organization called LearnServe, through which I developed this idea. This project will not only impact me and my fellow students, but our whole community of one million people.
