Green Salmon Coffee Co. started out here on the Oregon coast 15 years ago. We are a team of creative coffee lovers that count our blessings every day for being able to work in such a beautiful coastal village; serving our loyal local customers and the tourists that visit us every summer from all over the country and beyond! We enjoy being a social hub for our community, a way-station for travelers of the gorgeous Oregon coast and a main-stay for vacation home renters. Coffee and tea are a daily ritual for most of us and coffee houses are meant to be meeting places, so having to be closed is extremely hard for us and for the people that count on us.
It's not easy supporting a business that relies on only a few busy summer months to navigate the rest of the year; that's okay, we aren't in this to become the next Starbucks- we just love roasting organic coffee beans and creating imaginative drinks and serving healthy food.
Covid19 and the shutdown of our business has become "the straw that broke the camel's back" for us. We have closed down our cafe and our applications for a disaster loan, PPP loan and other assistance have been unfruitful, just too many businesses competing for aide at the same time. We are going to try and start doing take-out service to see if we can start bringing in some revenue and despite having some aid on the local level we just may not make the coming year, with the costs of payroll, operating costs, accrued debts combined with the economic losses of Spring Break revenue earlier this year and a summer with a weak tourist season, we are looking at a hard road ahead. Our staff is also hurting with the loss of tips and some have not been able to receive unemployment benefits. As hard as it is to ask for help, we are doing just that. Any amount that you can give would be appreciated! We will use these donations towards the monthly expenses still due, to help with costs of goods needed to do take-out service and to make up for tip loss.
