We are passionate about creating a school dedicated to holistic child development and significant community involvement. We are excited to work alongside local Aboriginal communities and to allow this engagement to come through into our curriculum. We aim to create outdoor classroom environments wherein our students can connect with nature and cultivate a deep respect and love for the earth and its cycles. We are exploring Steiner as the educational foundation of the school with the potential to integrate other methodologies, such as Reggio Emilia, slow schooling and nature pedagogy, while staying abreast of current research. In this we will equip students mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually for their futures as global citizens and earth stewards in a rapidly changing world.
This is the Mission Statement that we have developed:
Our mission is to provide children of the Shoalhaven with access to an education that fosters holistic growth and wellbeing. Our purpose is to empower children to develop a strong sense of Self so they are instrinsically motivated to learn and create their place and purpose. We aim to provide children with an individualised learning experience in accordance with their developmental needs. Through unhurried experiential, hands-on learning, nature immersion and creativity we carry an intention for fostering interpersonal and relational bonds between teachers, students, family and the wider community.
This school will be deeply intertwined in the local community, and thus will rely largely on local family support to get off the ground.
We need help to cover the costs of registering the school’s entity, applying for charity status, securing a location, employing an accountant and various other expenses that will crop up through the registration process. A donation of any size will make a significant contribution towards making this beautiful school a reality, paving the way for a nurturing and innovative education for the next generation of children.
