Help Gray Fight for Recovery

The first time I met Jo Livingston she was walking into our church followed by a gaggle of sweaty, tired, and giggly children from our youth class. Kind and accepting, the children she helped to influence still speak of her in loving tones. Our children are a piece of our heart and we are careful to whom we entrust them. Jo never took that trust for granted. She has loved every one of them.

Right now, a part of Jo’s heart is in a hospital bed. Her son, Gray Livingston, just recently graduated college. He had two promising job opportunities and life was stretching before him. As Gray was driving home the evening of Sept. 7, 2020, he hit a utility pole. Gray’s phone was lost in the crash, and knowing the road he was traveling doesn’t get much traffic and he was miles from home, he put the car in park and got out to walk. Next thing he knew he was being electrocuted by a downed power line.

Gray has first, second and third degree burns over 36 % of his body. He is undergoing surgeries to remove dead tissue, graft on new skin, and repair his severely damaged left foot. Through all this, Gray has kept an amazing positive attitude. His parents, Jo and Jimmy, have praised God for sparing him, putting him in capable hands, and according to them, they will continue to give God all the glory; no matter what.

While Gray had job interviews lined up, he is currently unemployed and without insurance due to a gap in coverage. With a journey of healing ahead of him, he also has the cloud of hospital bills. So many hospital bills. I can’t begin to estimate them. Yet, so much opportunity to help.
