This year we are doing the Wabanaki Water Walk 2019 where we start the water walk in Mi'kmaki and walk through to Wolastoq and Passamaquoddy and Penobscot territories. We walk in the footsteps of our Ancestors and those who taught us that we have abundance, clean water, clean food, clean air, and to give gratitude for our many blessings, and pray for those less fortunate. Our greatest teacher told us to 'Just Do It!' We will be Walking the Water in a ceremony beginning at the Shubenacadie River on May 20th, 2019 on an 850 km+ journey to the Healing the Wounds of Turtle Island Gathering at Nebezin, in Passadumkeag, Maine, USA. We are fundraising for the Water Walkers that will be on this 54-day journey. We will need funds for planning, a support van rental, food, supplies, lodging, gas and travel expenses. Your support is greatly appreciated. If you would like to contribute to the Wabanaki Water Walk, in person to walk with the water and the Eagle Staff, offer your skills in planning, communications, media, etc..cooking, setting up camp, etc. please contact at [email redacted]. Raising funds to help with travel expenses and administration work to support the Grassroots Grandmothers duty to protect our Mother Earth and Water, to promote our culture, teachings, and Treaty rights. We protect the water and our Mother Earth, address Environmental Racism and social justice issues within communities, schools, and youth groups. We promote reconciliation through education and embracing our cultural connections to our ancestors. It is our sacred responsibility to protect the water and our Mother Earth for our future generations. Your support is greatly appreciated.
