Grappling Against Cancer

Tax deductible

A number of years ago, a few of us decided that we should enter an “Old Timers Wrestling Tournament”, and in our mid-20s doing something like this purely for fun seemed like a reasonable choice.  Some did better than others, and some had more fun than others.

Fast forward a decade, and doing this purely for fun seems a bit less reasonable.  However, doing this to benefit an organization that fights daily against a disease that has impacted each of us, and most people we know, certainly makes more sense.

Last year we wrestled for St. Jude, and while we suffered (mainly Kyle) some fairly painful losses, we were able to raise a nice donation for a wonderful organization.  This year, we are wrestling in support of the American Cancer Society, and are hoping to help this organization to an even greater extent than we did last year.

Please, donate freely, plan to attend and (hopelessly) cheer us on.  A few of us may get injured, but in the end, the difference we can make means far more than one blown ACL. :-/

The event takes place on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at the Elk River High School, located at (900 School Street NW, Elk River, MN) and wrestling should start sometime around 2:00PM. The website for the event is https://www.elkriverwrestling.com/page/show/1479223-old-timers-tournament.

As was the case last year, once we reach our donation goal, we will open up a donate-to-vote campaign to allow our donors the opportunity to pick our singlets. Since Kyle was the only fundraiser last year, he was also the only one provided the opportunity to wear the kitty-cat singlet. :-)

Again, we really appreciate all of your support, and hope we can provide an opportunity here for all of us to have some fun, be provided some entertainment, and make a positive difference.

Thanks,
Kyle
