The topic of reproductive justice is extremely relevant today. There is a worrying world wide tendency of demonizing and restricting the access to this basic form of health care, limiting if not crushing people's rights (of any gender) to self determination in the context of reproduction. While grassroots organizations and people on the ground are fighting for these basic human rights, there are those in power who work against them.
By making this book I want to help spread stories which shed light on the importance, urgency and complexity of reproductive justice. To make sure this book is powerful and true to life I am collaborating with solidarity groups and activists who are very generous and share their experiences and knowledge with me. I look for feedback and input from people who are involved in this struggle and make sure to continuously inform myself on the topic.
Comics can be a very powerful creative tool with which to convey information, emotion and complex realities. Writing, re-writing, drawing, re-drawing... Making a graphic novel is a lot of work. By donating here you are supporting me with the time and space I need in order to complete this book, and bring it into the hands and hearts of the readers.
I am already hard at work, and plan to finish the book by the summer of 2023. Any support would be highly appreciated!
