I am writing this post to ask for your prayer and support. Starting on October 1st, 2017 I will be serving with Youth With A Mission for 6 months. I have decided to take a gap year to engage in missions work before I start my University studies.
YWAM is a global movement of Christian youth from many cultures and countries dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. YWAM currently works in more than 1,100 locations in over 180 countries, with a staff of over 18,000.
After a lot of thought and prayer, I applied and was accepted to a YWAM base in Perth, Australia. This particular base has a focus on sports related ministry that is used as a tool to connect with young people we will be reaching out to. The program is split into two phases. The first phase is the training phase and it is during this time that we go through an intensive training process designed to develop character, deeper relationship with God and prepare us for mission work.
The second phase is the outreach phase where we take what we've learned and apply it on our missions trip. I will be doing missions work in the country of Nepal and possibly Mozambique Africa. The primary goal is to raise up young leaders who are hungry to see change in the world and equip them to do just that.
I am asking you to consider helping me in two ways:
PRAY: I need people to pray for me and my team. We will be traveling to some remote places and working under some rustic conditions. Pray for open doors and safety.
GIVE: I still need to raise about $6,000 to cover expenses related to travel, housing and my short term missions project. Some of you have already offered to help out, so thank you in advance.
I would like to raise the entire amount before I leave in in two weeks on September 26th.
