Prayers for Grant - Wednesday 1/17/2018 For the past few days Grant had a neckache and headache. We thought it was from wrestling with his little brother. Last night was a long night of pain, so Lauren took him to the ER this morning. The CT Scan showed a "mass" on his brain stem. They sent him to Texas Children's hospital in Houston by ambulance. Thursday: After being seen by a a team of 10 Neurologist’s, They did a MRI and scheduled his surgery for the following day to remove the tumor. The tumor was causing the fluid in his brain to back up. It was located at the bottom of the brain stem. Friday, They went in and removed the tumor. It took over 9 hrs from start to finish. The cells came back abnormal which means once they determine what the tumor was Grant will need further treatment to make the tumor does not come back. (Should get the results 7 days from surgery) As Grant heals, please remember the hospital is 3 1/2 hours from the Pace’s home, making work difficult and expenses high. They were told the hospital does not accept their insurances, but do have an advocate trying to help work on that for them. David and Lauren have 5 children. Grant was diagnosed with a brain tumor. There will be many days ahead as he recovers and many trips from Nacogdoches to Houston.
