Granmo Family Medical Expenses.
Our Story, The short version.
Mom, Kim Granmo, was taken to the hospital for some flu-like symptoms. She was originally diagnosed with double pneumonia & extreme anemia. MANY tests were run, blood samples were taken, and a bone marrow biopsy was done. Mom has cancer; the LEUKEMIA kind. Acute Myeloid Leukemia, to be exact, after many stressful meetings with MANY different doctors.
Things were not looking well. She received two blood transfusions on two separate occasions, she had a nasty infection in her lungs, she was moved to the ICU and stayed for about a week; she was not able to breathe on her own. We were VERY CONCERNED.
Slowly, her body started healing, and her breathing got better, the infection in her lungs started to clear up, and after a week, she was moved from the ICU down to Oncology to begin the NEXT PHASE - Chemo - Cancer, the other scary part. Which is where we are now.
So basically, in a nutshell, our entire world has been turned upside-down (and shook a few times). My parents went from a two-income household; just barely making ends meet, to a one-income household, there are bills stacking up (mortgages, utilities, and car-payments), as well as the extremely scary, and very expensive Chemo treatment, and hospital stays. We do not have an exact amount that we need right now, but we have a suggested starting point.
As hard as it is, we are asking for help. Financial help. Our goal to start out with is $10,000 - which seems like an asinine amount, but in the face of Cancer, it is tiny.
Any donations to our family, Kim and Steve Granmo, for mom's hospital care/stay, and household bills is SO VERY APPRECIATED. WE ARE SO GREATFUL TO OUR FAMILY AND FRiENDS FOR EVERYTHING THEY HAVE DONE SO FAR, AND EVERYTHING THEY CONTINUE TO HELP US WITH.
WE ARE SO FILLED WITH LOVE AND GRATITUDE .
