Grandma needs triple bypass surgery
Donation protected
We brought grandma from the Philippines for a six month visit with us here in Fort Saskatchewan Alberta We could only afford the plane ticket and not the travel insurance. On November 27 2017 she started to have chest pains and trouble breathing so we called an ambulance which took her to our local hospital . After one night in the local hospital they transferred her to the University of Alberta hospital in Edmonton Alberta where they diagnosed her and said she needed triple bypass surgery. We are paying over $5300 cdn a day for the room which doesn’t include doctors fees.We are on day 7 and today being Saturday they won’t be doing anything until Monday. After the operation she will be in intensive care unit at a cost of over $18000 a day for at least 3 days then back to her $5300 room for another 7 - 10 days and all of this does not include doctor fees or any unseen medical problems. I am a retired union Ironworker (15 yrs Calgary local 725 and 25 yrs Edmonton local 720). My wife is currently working out of the Labourers local 92. We appreciate any and all donations and prayers for her mother (grandma/ Lola). Any donations that might be unused after the operation will be donated back equally between the Mazankowski Heart Institute and the Stollery Children’s Hospital. Thank you for your consideration and kindness in this very trying and stressful time.
