Lost Humility - Grandma Needs Help

I am 70 years old and battling esophageal cancer -- a very formidable foe. I am retired from the United Way where I was not involved in fundraising, but organized community events. I find it very difficult -- and embarrassing  -- to ask for monetary donations. However, I realize that I CANNOT DO IT ALL for the next few months, and now I am too old to be embarrassed. Our 33-year-old daughter has lived with us all  her adult life. She has uncontrollable epileptic seizures, even after a partial left front temporal lobectomy. She is unable to work and needs much rest. My husband also has mean evil in his life. He is stoic in the face of Dark Ages torture pain every waking moment. Ergo, he sleeps a lot, and I do not begrudge him his peace and freedom from pain. He also becomes confused at times due to vision and hearing challenges.  He uses  an electric scooter for mobility. Yes, there are some interesting conversations between my husband and daughter. Eight years ago, my daughter had twin daughters of her own. Their father left when they were 3 weeks old and has not been seen or heard from since.. The girls are our educational, cultural, emotional, and financial responsibility -- we say our retirement has been redirected. Of course, they are the joys and foci of our lives. Three years ago, at the age of 67, I said something to my husband that I never thought I would say again: we have to move to a better school district.  We did. I am the sole driver in our family and do all the shopping, etc. We have wonderful friends who will help with the twins on weekends, but no one during the week. It would be such a great gift to have a part-time in-home caregiver from @ 2:00-7:00 PM M-F to help with girls, dinner, shopping, etc. over the course of the next few months. My energy and overall wellness will deteriorate,  culminating in major surgery.  Also, it would substantially alleviate the stress level in our home to have help with on-going medical bills. Our supplemental
medical insurance  (Kaiser Permanente) has no monthly premiums, but hefty co-pays. We live on a fixed income, and our emergency savings have been depleted due to these co-pays, which will continue through December for weekly lab work and future endoscopies, CAT scans, PET scans, and medications. If I had someone to help in the house and relief from financial stress, I feel that I would heal faster. From the bottom of my heart to beyond infinity, I thank you for your consideration of my wishes.
