Help Grandma Ella’s 9 Children Stay Housed

Hi, Everyone. I’m Jennifer Scully. Some of you may know me as Mrs. Claus.

I head a charitable organization called Help Mrs Claus that, for the past 12 years, and along with the help of literally thousands of kind people, has answered the wishes of over 3,000 children in need. We provide Christmas gifts like warm coats, clothing, shoes, school supplies, snacks, toys, games, books, art supplies, and musical instruments.

Many of these families have touched my heart and some of them keep in touch with me throughout the year.

Meet Ella. Many know her as Grandma Ella. Many know her as Grandma Ella. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing this superhero of a woman for three years.

We all have a story. Ella’s is one of love, sacrifice and survival.

Ella lost her single mom at the tender age of 12. She never knew her dad. She was in this world alone, but went on to finish her education despite having two children before she graduated high school.

She worked two jobs, and volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club in her spare time. She went on to have 4 more daughters and worked 16 hour shifts to feed her six babies.

Ella’s children are now grown but because of her generosity and love of being a mother, she took in a few family members’ children who were headed for the foster care system. She’s currently “Grandma Ella” to nine children in her full-time care.

In March 2020, when the pandemic hit and schools shut down, Ella was forced to quit her job in order to stay home with the children.

With no income and little financial help, Ella had to rely on donations and the kindness of strangers to fill those hungry bellies and keep the heat on.

Just when things seemed they couldn’t get worse, in May of 2021, just after Ella was able to return to work, she suffered a brutal attack that was so severe, it left her unable to walk for 8 months.

Ella works three jobs to pay the rent but the pandemic has set her so far back, it’s past the point of no return.

Grandma and her 9 children have been served eviction papers. As of August 1st, Ella and her kids will be on the street.

If you have the means to help keep a roof over Ella and her children’s heads, a donation in any amount would be so greatly appreciated.

Thank you for reading Ella’s story. If you aren’t able to contribute, please share to get her heard.

100% of the proceeds of this fundraiser will be given to Ella.

With much gratitude,
Jennifer Scully
