Grandma Artty's LA Fire Nightmare
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
My name is Jennifer Alestri and I am here to plead for your assistance. I wasn't given more than a week to mourn the loss of one grandmother before the Creek Fire consumed the house of my other grandmother, Artha "Artty" Belyeu. She is 75 years old and battling major illnesses.
My family is running on fumes and my grandma is left without a house, without clothes, and without property. We are thankful to even have her here with us, considering she had no time to collect anything more than her cellphone and trusted Daschund, Charlie, before a swath of flames descended on her small residential cul-de-sac in Sylmar. The unprecedented Santa Ana winds caught her entire zipcode by surprise when the fires began.
I am humbly asking for your charity because my family has nowhere else to turn to in the midst of what is becoming a prolonged insurance claim.
Anything you can offer exponentially increases my grandma's quality of life and wellbeing. Grandma's are always there for us as children - some of us have even been raised by our grandparents. Yet, here I am as an adult, unable to care for my grandma when she needs it the most. My days go filled with grief, emotion, and exhaustion. But that pales in comparison to what my grandma has come to accept as her reality: her livelihood and possessions were erased in an afternoon.
I am looking to help replace some clothes, minor furnishings, and build a small foundation for her to continue her life upon. Any donation will bring reprieve and go appreciated beyond measure.
On behalf of my family,
Thank you.
