Grandfather's Throat Cancer Therapy

After battling thyroid cancer for the second time, Papa developed a lump in his pharyngeal passage, disabling the left side of his vocal cords. This has made the mundane task of drinking very difficult and has made his voice very hoarse. What we initially thought was an infection turned out to be a new cancer mass, one that has also engulfed part of his carotid artery. This means it is inoperable as surgery will only do one of or both of this - he could bleed to death on the surgery table and/or he could lose his voice. So now the only option is a combination of radiation (39 days) and chemotherapy (4 cycles), which should happen soon once Papa is cleared for it. The procedures will be costly and will also have additional costs to manage the possible side effects. We need compassionate hearts, people who know or understand the effects of cancer and the long, uphill struggle and battle towards healing and recovery!
