My name is Colin...
My Dear Friend Graeme lives in Kinross,Scotland and was diagnosed with Primary Lateral Sclerosis on Friday 24th March 2008(Motor Neurone Disease) I am fundraising to help acquire a new wheelchair for him. I have done numerous events over the years to raise much needed funds to assist Graeme moving forward. These have included an Abseil from the Edinburgh Forth Bridge,300mls cycle ride, dinner dance.
These events funded a wheelchair and things around the house.
Due to ever changing technology and changes in Graeme’s health a new chair is much needed to support his everyday living.
Graeme should be an inspiration to all of us on how to keep going in adversity.
Firstly, and most importantly, I would like a chair that can tip me forward to assist getting out of my wheelchair to transfer to my bed, or my armchair. It would also assist me in the kitchen at the hob by raising me up and slightly forward to see what is happening in the pan. It can, in actual fact, raise me high enough to reach the top shelves of the kitchen cabinets! Finally, it goes really fast – I think 6 mph!!!
