Grady's Surgery Fund

Hi, I'm Grady, an Irish Wolfhound puppy living in Sacramento, California.  Something weird happened with how my bones are growing in my front legs. You can tell they're crooked, which might look cute, but if they continue to grow this way, I will not be able to walk like a normal pup. I am 6 months old, and have a lot more growing to do, so it is important that I have surgery to fix my legs.
I already had my first surgery which was more of a relief surgery,  but now I am ready to get the pins and screws placed in my legs so that they can help adjust my bones little by little until they are the same length. 

Every pup has two bones in their forearms - - the radius and the ulna and they are connected on both ends. My radius bones are growing much faster than my ulna bones, and because they has nowhere else to go, the radius bones are curving and making my paws move outwards. I will be about 170 lbs when I grow up so it is important that my legs can support my weight. My doctors already cut off a little bit of my ulna bones in each foot and put me in splints so that my bones can grow back.   Because my ulna bones now stopped growing normally,  they need to be lengthened over time with pins and screws and hopefully one day I can walk and run and play like other puppies do.


When I grow up, I want to be a therapy dog to visit sick kids in the hospital. I want to show them that even if they are sick, that one day they can be strong again too.
