Grace's summer with KC Ballet

Grace would describe ballet as her life's passion.
She dances while she brushes her teeth, takes out the trash or collects the mail and at every opportunity in between. It has been who she is, and what she loves for her whole life.
We have worked very hard to keep her dancing at a level that she needs to to attain her goal of becoming a professional ballet dancer. The summer months offer an opportunity and a challenge.
The opportunity is the ability to focus on ballet without worrying about school work, to be able to study with a variety of instructors and styles. 
The challenge is to make sure she is dancing an intensive level, allowing her to stay on track to be ready to audition for trainee positions at a company as soon as she is old enough.
The additional challenge for our family is the expense.
Now that she is 16, the time for those auditions will come sooner than I want, and making sure that she has a shot at her dream feels exciting and scary and a bit overwhelming. 
Grace has chosen Kansas City Ballet for her summer intensive this year. She auditioned and was accepted to many summer programs and felt that the opportunities and teaching offered by KC Ballet best suited her at this point in her career. 
Grace is very committed to her goal, she left her friends and traditional high school experience this year (10th grade) to do online school, where she is a straight A student in all honors classes.
