Grace through a Fire for 79 yo Dorothy Davis

Donation protected
Hi my name is LaKeitha and I am fundraising for Dorothy N. Davis

At a time when neighbors stay to themselves and rarely connect in this busy world, my stepmother was rescued by two men who risked their lives to literally pull her from the flames of her burning mobile home. On February 28th Dorothy Nell Davis-Kelley, of a small town in Bryan Texas, lost everything she knew in a horrific house fire. By the grace of God, she is safe and recovering from smoke inhalation in a local rehabilitation center. Dorothy is a 79-year-old widow to Knox Kelley Jr. who died last month after being married many years.

Dorothy lives alone and is disabled. She is unable to walk after not fully recovering post her stroke and heart attack just last year. Dorothy is dependent on a wheelchair for mobility. The fire started on the evening of February 28th in Dorothy’s bedroom. It moved rapidly through the house and Dorothy was trapped behind the front door of her home yelling for help.

Dorothy said, “God did it!” He positioned 3 people to be directly outside her home to see the smoke. They sprang into heroic action, kicked the metal door in and dragged her to safety after finding her on the floor of her porch, buried in smoke and unable to pick herself up.
Dorothy’s mobile home is deemed a total loss and will need to be replaced. She has nowhere to live. She is in a very desperate place. She has no clothing, no furniture, and no appliances, and she lost even the ashes of her late husband, because of this untimely fire.

WE NEED TO HELP Dorothy because she is on a minimal fixed monthly income and is unable to rebuild her life without assistance. She is now in a position where she must purchase a new home. And without the love, kindness, and generosity of those who are willing to offer her financial support, she will not be able to make it. Her family is helping every day, but they are limited and can only help with her daily needs.

The old mobile home must be moved, a new one needs to be purchased, and moved to her property and she needs new power connections and a water connection. The estimated cost is $100,000. Please help us rally behind her and help Dorothy get through the next several weeks and months ahead until God turns her situation around. Please consider donating and sharing her Go Fund Me page. And PLEASE keep her in your prayers.
