Grace Kids UMC Summer Reading Challenge 2020

Grace UMC Kids and friends will be participating in our 5th Annual Grace Kids Reach for the Stars Summer Reading Challenge, beginning Sunday, June 7th through Sunday, July 26th. Reach for the Stars is an exciting Summer Reading Challenge. This challenge rewards kids for reading by allowing them to choose free books and it also provides books for deserving individuals or organizations in our community.
The goal of Reach for the Stars is to motivate children to read, keep them reading, and then reward them with books that grab their attention!
Each child will be required to read 30 mins per day for a eight week period and they will collect donations & pledges toward earning books.
This year our church has decided that we would like to raise the funds so that we can provide each child who participates in the program 4 to 6 books to read over the course of the challenge. We would like to sow seeds of a love for reading into our children. This is one of the best gifts that we can give to encourage our young people to become life long learners.
Grace Kids UMC will need 55 people to sponsor them at $20 per person in order to reach our goal of providing books for all the children! We are partnering with Usborne Books & More who will match whatever we raise 50%! Our goal is to raise $1500 by midnight Friday, June 5th. ALL funds will go to purchasing brand new books of a variety of genres and reading levels for the participants of the Grace UMC Kids and friends Summer Reading Challenge.
