GRACE IS THY FAITHFULNESS- BAHAMAS RELIEF FUND

As we all know Hurricane Dorian devastated many lives and destroyed properties costing “hundreds of billions” of dollars in the Bahamas. It is one thing, to be moved by the images illustrated on various websites and news centers show people struggling, others pleading to be saved as they see their properties being destroyed helplessly. It is another to have personal relationships with individuals living this unforeseen nightmare. I was personally born and raised in Freeport, Grand Bahamas. Freeport and Abaco Island are the most affected, as Lia Head-Rigby (a member of local hurricane group) noted. “It’s total devastation. It’s decimated. Apocalyptic,” she said. I have family, relatives, and friends who need help from all of us. This cause means a lot to me since the Bahamas is my home. I was afforded the opportunity to come to the United States and attend college at Abilene Christian University and chose to stay here with the wonderful individuals I met along the way. I feel I owe this to my family and others in my home country that helped propel my education and career. Setting up this plan will help different families to get back to their regular. The collected funds will mean a lot for the Bahamian people who were not prepared for the hurricane. Getting help will assist them to overcome the traumatic experience of rebuilding efforts. I will be responsible for withdrawing the money into a share/saving account where I will personally travel to Freeport Bahamas and distribute the funds to  Family and friends that are much in need of help. I express my gratitude and appreciation for everyone willing to contribute to help the recovery process. I am touched by every helping hand as we express the fundamental value of humanity to help one another to overcome various challenges in life.
