Puerto Rico Hurricane Maria Relief

As many of you know, Puerto Rico was hit by Hurricane Maria, a Category 4 hurricane and the strongest to hit the island in over 80 years. The hurricane left the entire population of Puerto Rico without power for months.
Many of you have reached out to me asking for ways to help Puerto Rico recover post Hurricane Maria. I’ve set up this gofundme page for anyone who’d like to donate. I’ll personally make sure all of the money goes to those organizations on the ground bringing food, water and shelter to those in need.
I feel very blessed because my family and friends are safe, but many have lost it all and thousands are still at risk due to flash floods or potential landslides. Many of my friends have been unable to contact their family members to make sure they’re ok. Most cell towers are down. The situation is worse than we could have ever imagined and it will take years to rebuild the island. Any help is greatly appreciated. The videos and pictures from the aftermath are truly devastating. Rebuilding Puerto Rico will take a long time and we need your help. This is my home and the home to so many of us who love our island and are trying to find ways to help in the midst of this catastrophy.

For those of you who don't know me - my name is Coral Lopez and I was born and raised in Puerto Rico. I now live in Los Angeles and this gofundme page helped me reach out to family and friends who were eager to help Puerto Rico from the mainland but didn't know which organization to support.
So far your money has been used in the following ways:
1. Direct support to www.fuelrelief.org. Here is a bit of information on what the organization is doing in Puerto Rico:
Fuel Relief Fund is on the ground in Puerto Rico! As reported in all the major news outlets, the lack of fuel continues to be the most pressing need. Relief supplies are at hand, but the fuel to get them to the people is not.
Most of the island is still without electrical power. The entire grid was destroyed, so the only electrical power is coming from generators, powered by fuel. This situation is expected to last for months, maybe even a year. The devastation is immense. People are still dying. Many have gone without any type of aid. People in some areas are drinking rain water. People with diabetes have no access insulin. Dialysis centers have run critically low on fuel to run their generators. Fuel stations continue to run low and operate for only a few hours at a time. The lines for fuel are unbelievably long.
Fuel Relief Fund is providing FREE FUEL to those in need.
We are giving away fuel to the people of Puerto Rico so they can run their vehicles and generators.
We are giving away fuel to clinics, hospitals, and elderly care facilities so they can have lights, refrigeration, and working medical equipment.
We are giving away fuel to fill generators to operate water treatment plants so people have clean drinking water.
We are giving away fuel to first responders and other NGO’s so they perform their life-saving work.
Every dollar goes to procuring fuel and the logistical support to deliver it. Nothing is spent on overhead. You cannot imagine what a difference free fuel will make to the people of Puerto Rico.
2. Direct support to close friend who travelled in humanitarian flight from Dayton, OH to San Juan with 10 bins full of supplies. These supplies are currently being sorted out at a local church and will be going directly to communities in need throughout the island (not in San Juan). The need outside of San Juan is great right now as most of those communities remain incommunicated.
3. Direct support to close family member in Puerto Rico who was able to get her hands on a large shipment of baby food and baby formula. These supplies will be distributed directly to women's shelters around the island.
We continue researching and finding the best organizations or the best way to reach the people of Puerto Rico.
I am currently on a humanitarian flight waiting list and I hope to get to Puerto Rico as soon as possible. I will be taking several bins full of supplies to distribute directly to the town of Humacao - one of the towns impacted the most by Hurricane Maria.
