Baby Liggett Adoption Fund

Starting a family and bringing home a child is a dream that many couples are able to realize when the time is right.  For Brian and I, this journey has been long and it still continues.  A few of you know-and many of you probably suspect-that for almost 7 years Brian and I have been trying to conceive.  Following many tests at various doctors, we have been told that we fall into the unexplained infertility category: there is no obvious reason that we cannot have children, yet we continue to remain childless.  After a few procedures and thousands of dollars spent at fertility clinics, Brian and I have made the challenging decision to look at other options.  Supportive friends and family, along with thoughtful and often tearful prayers, have led us to the exciting decision to pursue adoption.

Brian and I would desperately love to be parents and experience the ups and downs associated with raising a child.  I would be lying if I didn’t acknowledge that I sometimes feel cheated watching our friends and family with their children while we are still waiting to experience the same joy.  We are ever so thankful, however, that our friends and family invite us into their lives and the lives of their children.  It is heartbreaking at times, yet I understand that this is all in God’s master plan.  I have learned to trust Him more and have a much stronger faith because of the trials we have been through.  Just like the biblical story of Sarah, I continuously work to have faith and hope.

Finally, I feel that for the first time in almost 7 years, I can dream about our future child; about all the firsts, the travels we might take, the joy and laughter, and all that we can help him or her learn.  Although I may not have carried our child, for this child we have prayed!  We have chosen a wonderful Christian agency that will assist us in our journey, and we are thrilled to have been accepted into their program.  Our journey is not over; there is a long road ahead.  There will be ups and downs, twists and turns.  Yet we know that through prayer, family, and friends we will see our hopes and dreams come to fruition.

We have worked very hard over the past two years to pay off debts and fertility expenses, with the exception of the house and car.  By doing so, Brian and I hope we will be able to provide the best life for our children.  However, this process has left us without the funding necessary to adopt.  If you are able to help us reach our financial goal, we are beyond grateful.  We do understand that not everyone is in a position to help financially; we also welcome your prayers as we take this journey.

In speaking with friends and family, we have come to realize that Brian and I are not alone.  There are so many others, both in our age group and beyond, who have dealt with similar heartache and trials.  Although it is comforting at times to know that so many can understand what Brian and I are going though, we certainly wish this emotional rollercoaster didn’t take its toll on others.  We dearly wish that by sharing our story, we can provide hope to others going through similar circumstances; even if it’s just one person, it’s worth it.

God’s Blessings, Brian & Jenn

It truly takes a village to raise a child; sometimes it also takes a village to help bring them home.
