Help Fund Beth's Raku Firings

Life has a way of sending us on detours which actually make dreams come true. I recently opened Finding Voice Art Studio after many years in the counseling field. Over the past ten years I have explored art as a means of personal expression of emotions and healing. Now I look forward to helping other people explore art. I also hope to produce and sell my own artwork.
In particular, I want to do raku clay work and give other people a chance to make something with clay and then raku fire it. The final part of the process is to sift through the ashes and find the clay piece which has been transformed by smoke and fire. Seeing the beauty of something I have made emerge from ashes has been an ever-present reminder of hope.
The biggest challenge in this dream is getting pieces fired. Two different firing processes are involved and this requires two kilns.
Originally, in my GoFundMe campaign, I planned to raise money for one kiln which did both processes.
However, as I have sought more counsel on this, I have been advised to stick with an electric kiln and a raku kiln.
So far, with approximately $800 of money contributions I have been able to purchase the raku kiln and many supplies. I have half of the money I need for an electric kiln which will do the first firing of raku pieces and firing for non-raku work.
I now am excited to see that I am getting closer to my dream. I need about $800 to be able to purchase the electric kiln.
What's in it for you? If you donate toward my project, I will show you how to make a clay piece at my art studio and after it has had the initial firing, you can come and participate in a raku firing. This way you can celebrate with me and discover the joy of raku firing.
If you don't live in the Salem area but come to visit, I would be happy to arrange a special raku firing. Also, I would be happy to provide a clay piece for you if you would prefer to just participate in the raku firing.
