Glasses for the poor in Nigeria

Hello, my name is Nabilah and I am 15 years old. I wear glasses, and I've always wondered why people who needed glasses had to pay for them... it's not like I wanted impaired vision. As small as this may seem, not being able to see clearly can have a large effect on a kid's self-esteem. I remember an occasion where I found it hard to see the board in my class. The teacher kept changing the slide and I found it very difficult to copy the notes down as quickly as my other peers. I just felt embarrassed. Kids are forced to undergo this throughout their childhood and the right pair of glasses is not always accessible or affordable. By providing them with the basic need of clear sight, we could majorly boost their confidence in the classroom, potentially changing their lives. The well-known phrase 'charity starts at home' influenced me to raise money for the kids of Lagos Nigeria, for eye tests and prescribed glasses where needed. Hopefully, this story has inspired you to help make a change and to help make a little child's vision clearer.
