The cost of Bailey's medical treatment has taken a toll on her family throughout the years. Bailey's family is in need of help to continue paying for Bailey's Daily Developmental Training Program (and paying the past-due balance that is owed), along with all of her equipment, doctor visits, care, etc. that Bailey requires. Insurance unfortunately does not cover the majority of Bailey's expenses and her family has struggled for many years now to keep up with all of the costs. Please help Bailey's loving family! They all have sacrificed so much for so many years now, and have worked very hard to give Bailey the best life she can possibly have!
*Please read below the letter from Bailey's Mother*
Bailey's Medical Background:
Bailey began having seizures at about 18 months old and has suffered with them throughout her life. She has a severe and profound developmental delay, hypotonia (poor muscle tone), microcephaly (small brain), and high myopia with nystagmus (severe near-sightedness). A person is considered legally blind when their eyesight is 20/70. Bailey's correctd vision leaves her with 20/200 vision.
Words from Bailey's Mother:
"Bailey is a beautiful, energetic 25 year old girl who is a joy to be around. When Bails feels well, she is all smiles! Bailey wears AFO's (Artificial Foot Orthotics) on both feet almost up to her knees. These allow her to walk with assistance when she is out of her wheelchair. Bailey's ultimate leisure is most definitely swimming. Bails will show no mercy to the caregiver holding her..you will get wet! Bailey loves to watch Veggie Tales DVDs and her favorite movie is High School Musical! Bailey is always tapping on her tray with her toys or clapping her hands. Though Bails makes lots of sounds she is non-verbal. Bailey does know how to sign for more, finished, eat, yes, me, and Bailey.
We are a family who loves the Lord Jesus Christ. We have never questioned God "Why Me..Why us?" We felt that God chose us to be Bailey's family and her support. It has been an honor and Bailey has been a blessing to us. WE are the lucky ones!
Bailey has taught us to not take for granted the simple tasks. For example: We put food in our mouths and we chew it...we stand and we walk...we open our mouths and we talk...we do most of these things and don't even think about it. Bailey's challenged with so much and yet she is so joyful, sweet, and a very happy young lady!"
