Giving back to Choluteca 2015

Donation protected
I will be traveling to Honduras from August 2nd -11th where we will work on several different projects such as teaching in schools, building homes, and creating beds for children. My group and I (approximate 20) will focus on 3 main points: entrepreneurship, education, and nutrition.

We will focus on making connections in the country that will help us learn about these 3 initiatives, with the locals of the village and with people from a civilized city nearby, to see what kind of projects Georgia State University students can help on. When we get to Honduras, we will be interacting with kids from an orphanage, kids who suffer from malnutrition, we will be building homes and bed for those who do not have a place to sleep on.

The desired skill sets that I expect to develop through project are:
-Develop leadership and teamwork skills through a social community service
-Create awareness about a developing country and its needs within their community
-Develop a program in order to raise funds for school supplies needed within the community, especially at the CDI (Centro Desarrollo Infantil).
-Develop a different perspective of global poverty and basic needs, such as water and electricity

The cost is broken down in three categories:
-Flight: $760
-In-Country Logistics: $850 (This includes the materials to build beds & home, hotel, and food provided by locals)
-Medical Insurance: $30

With the money gathered, I will be able to pay for the regitration cost to GCLA, hotel, materials in order to build the beds and house, and also the flight.

Please help on achieving one of my dreams. Helping a community in need. Traveling in order to create opportunities for future Georgia State University students in order to have a life-changing experience. By donating you are helping me a lot, even if it is a little that means a lot to me honestly. I am a true passionate about giving back to the community especially the Latino community, a community where electricity and water is scarce. Thank you!

If you have any questions regarding the trip, please feel free to contact me.
