Gotha Floods

Gotha is located outside of Orlando in unincorporated Orange County, Florida.   Our community is experiencing significant high water in nearly all of our local lakes and ponds, jeopardizing homes and property values in adjacent communities.  Several homes are already flooded and have been abandoned.  Gotha residents are organizing under GothaFloods.com.  We are looking for community members to help fund an engineering study of our lakes and water issues.  Orange County is refusing to help and claims our lakes are private and simply being affected by unusually heavy rainfall.  We believe excessive development, poor planning, and bad land use and stormwater management are to blame.  We also believe the expanded turnpike and 408 interchange have contributed dramatically to the water problems throughout Gotha.  Again, all funds donated will go towards the engineering evaluations and studies needed to prove our case.
