Introduction
Hello, my name is Brandon Hudson and I coach youth basketball with my friend Durelle in Berwyn, Illinois. We are creating a youth travel team called the Illinois Soldiers and we are trying to raise funds. There are many positive ways basketball will affect the children’s lives as well as my own. Basketball has played a key factor in my life for as far back as I could remember. Some of my best qualities as a person as well as some of my fondest memories can be contributed to the game of basketball.
My story
I’ve played competitively at almost every level and I believe that the things I’ve learned along the way will be able to help me positively affect today’s youth on and off the court.
The purpose of this travel team is to teach the kids skills that will help them be successful on the basketball court and translate off the court in their daily lives as they progress into young men. My goal is to instill the traits needed to become a better person and to become a role model who they can believe in and trust.
How you can help
In order for us to achieve all of the goals for the team, we will need to raise money for jerseys, a van to transport them, and entry fees for the various tournaments we plan to enter. Whatever you're able to offer will go towards helping make this summer not only enjoyable for the kids, but for us as well as one of our main goals is to make this affordable for the children. We are invested in keeping the kids out of trouble while teaching them the game that we both love. If possible, we would like to keep their expenses low and allow them the ability to focus on having fun and making new friends and memories.
