Gordon & Melinda's Medical Fund

It's never easy when a family member has cancer, especially when money is also a problem. You would hope that all the focus could go to your loved one and not wondering how you will pay the bills or put food on the table.
Unfortunately that is the case for my in-laws.
My father-in-law Gordon was diagnosed with colon cancer October 2016. He went in for surgery to get a portion of his colon removed. Then one year later we find out his cancer had spread all throughout his body and he is now stage 4. The Doctors have given him only a few months to live. We are hopeful, but as each day passes he loses just a little strength. Gordon is also in a great deal of pain. The incision area where they went in to remove his colon, now has a cancerous tumor growing out of it, which causes a lot of pain and discomfort. The Dr's say they cannot remove it because it will not heal.
Gordon owns his own pool company and did amazing jobs designing pools and outdoor living areas. Since June however, he has not been able to work. All the pain and fatigue makes it hard for him to do basic things around the house. My mother-in-law Melinda has also been unable to work much having to help care for Gordon, not to mention the emotional toll.
Not only do they have lack of money coming in from work but our Government has not been so generous when it comes to Gordon recieving disability. He has yet to see a check.
Right now Gordon is in hospice care just taking it day by day. Melinda is having to take on everything on her own.
It hurts my heart to see them struggle when they should be enjoying life together right now.
Where our government has failed them, I believe friends and family can fill that void.
These funds would help tremendously! Not only to simply help put "food on the table", but also take care of their medical bills and give peace of mind so Gordon and Melinda can enjoy their last remaining time together. The funds will also help future funeral arrangements. It's hard to think about, but it is something that also needs help financially.
From me and their two sons, Colby and Matt, we give you thanks for all your support, whether financially or through prayer. I know Gordon and Melinda are grateful as well! This is a tough journey for us all, but it makes it a little easier knowing we have such a great support system
