GO PRO SKILLS CAMP - 4th year

Donation protected
My name is George Pektor. I am a Freshman at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York. I have been playing basketball for the past 10 years. During this time, I was fortunate enough to attend skills development programs and collegiate basketball camps. I have also been involved in AAU and travel basketball programs. By participating in these programs, I came to realize that many potentially good athletes do not have the opportunity to advance their skill set through focused training and concentrated coaching. Hence the birth of GO PRO SKILLS CAMP.

Last 2014, I launched my vision, my camp, to great success thanks to so many people that helped me raise close to $60,000, to date, serving over 200 inner city, teenage boys (ages 13-17) in the Lehigh Valley with absolutely no cost to anyone. I am proud to say that this is the fourth year that I am running this camp.

I structured my platform to address advance skill development as well as having both motivational and inspirational speakers of prominence. In addition to providing a deeper understanding of the sport, and enhancing personal development, the program introduced professional players as well as career devoted coaches including Jim Cleamons of the New York Knicks. Our many speakers provided stories, advice and life lessons providing a positive, uplifting experience for our campers completely free of charge. We also provided daily transportation, lunch, snacks, Tshirts, and water bottles. Further, we handsomely compensated many Lehigh Valley coaches who were very happy for the employment opportunities.

Specifically, the goal of my campaign is to take last year's business model and grow it attempting to reach more and more high-risk kids that would not normally be able to participate in or afford such a program. The intention, as well, is to influence these young athletes at a critical point in their basketball careers where they might, in fact, be questioning their future with the sport. This concentrated, skills development program is meant to further advance their potential and interest in the sport of basketball as well as the importance of higher education.

Sponsor funding will enable this camp to not only employ a high professional staff, but also provide the ability to secure meaningful and inspirational speakers. Most importantly this funding will bring five-star sports training to well deserving athletes who are financially unable to otherwise afford such a program.

We respectively ask you to consider giving to this worthwhile campaign. If you would prefer to not use GOFUNDME, you can simply make your check out to:
