Good Samaritans, Jake & Derek
The headlines have labeled these two as “Good Samaritans” and they’re really some of the best.
On Saturday evening, July 17th our friends Jake and Derek stopped to do something that surprises none of us-help someone in need. Unfortunately, the person they had stopped to help had other intentions. He had shot and carjacked a woman in Oklahoma City just a few hours prior and ran out of fuel. After taking him to a gas station, buying fuel and a container to get him back on the road, he coldheartedly attempted to end their lives by shooting them both and fleeing. A couple passing by saw them both on the side of the road, stopped, and called for help. They were transported in critical condition to Fort Smith and Little Rock hospitals. Thankfully, both survived and are now in stable condition after a few surgeries.
To help with all of the unexpected expenses, we’ve set up this fundraiser for Jake, Derek, and their families. Funds will be distributed equally (via cashiers check) to Jake and Derek once withdrawn. The funds will be used to help cover their medical bills and any other unexpected expenses incurred from this event.
