Good Samaritan Orphanage Liberia

Donation protected

These are some of the children of the Good Samaritan Orphanage. They are the beneficiaries of this fundraising campaign.

We believe that leaders create leaders. We travel to Liberia each year, taking with us leaders from all around the world. Our leaders deepen their self awareness, growing and strengthening as leaders through acts of service. We create connections between our leaders and local community leaders.

Our relationship is with one community in particular, that of Duwehn Town, Grand Bassa. We return to this community each year to strengthen relationships and to support self sustainable projects that are being developed there. We coach and mentor the community to find their own solutions to growing a strong and self sustaining economy and infrastructure.

However in November 2018 we have decided to directly give aid and support to the children of the Good Samaritan Orphanage by carrying out some repair and maintenance projects whilst staying in Grand Bassa.

The funds that we are raising will be used to repaint the building, change out and repair zinc on the roof in areas that it is leaking. We will also refresh and replace some of the dormitory beds and school furniture.

We will be supporting the local economy by commissioning local labourers and suppliers to do this work.

Here are how the costs break down, as supplied by Emmanuel Wragboe, our community liasion in Liberia.

We need the funds before our visit in November 2018, we are there between 17th - 28th November.

After the ebola epidemic there are many orphans in Liberia, the children of the Good Samaritan Orphanage are who we have met and who we seek to support.

Your donation will ensure that they can sleep in comfort and be educated in a pleasant environment.

This support is a small but vital part of strengthening our relationship with the people of Duwehn Town. To demonstrate that we are prepared to invest in local trades to support the most vulnerable of their community is a strong builder of trust and acceptance.

The staff and volunteers at the Good Samaritan are doing an amazing job with very few resources, we can support them as they learn to support themselves.

Thank you for reading this far, please take time to donate as little or as much as you can.
