Good Samaritan Critically Injured

Donation protected
Hi my name is Wendy Fox, and I've known Luetta 6+ years. She is one of the most loving, caring and unconditionally giving people you could hope to meet. As a nursing paraprofessional for two and a half decades in the Epping School District, she and her husband Dave are cut from the same cloth. Like most of us, they have spent their lives working hard raising family, helping friends, and trying to get ahead. They are the type of people who always put others before themselves, even during times when they are down on their luck. After 35 years of marriage, if you were to meet them you would think they were newlyweds.
This loving couple needs your help!
On the morning of Saturday December 4th (Dave's 6th day of work in the week), his life was shattered along with his pelvis, urethra, vertebrae and other traumas all for being a good Samaritan. Very shortly after 8:00 am, an elderly woman struck a telephone pole 10 feet outside the door of Dave’s work building in Nashua due to bad sun glare. As anyone with human decency would do, Dave and a couple of his co-workers went out to help. After initially checking the woman over, and keeping her in her car to be safe, they called 911. Dave proceeded make the scene safe by setting out traffic cones. A volunteer firefighter showed up, and they thought the scene was secured. At least a half dozen cars had made it around the scene without problem…. until suddenly, a car came crashing through at 35 mph, striking the elderly woman’s vehicle, and then running over Dave. Dave was struck head-on and went under the vehicle, front to back. Because this incident occured in New Hampshire, a state that only requires minimal to no insurance, Dave and Luetta need help with covering Dave’s surmounting medical costs. Which are now up over $500,000.
Dave's injuries are severe and he has a long road ahead for recovery.
So far he’s had:
* Pelvic surgery- broken in 7 places- the worst his doctors have ever seen
*Catheter in the bladder, which will stay there until Mid april- at which time he may need another surgery if the urethra has not rebuilt itself
*He’s been completely non weight bearing since this happened and is wheelchair bound and unable to walk
*Purchased medical equipment out of pocket for his home because insurance would not cover it
*Countless trips to Boston for doctors appointments- In the coming weeks, Dave should get re-evaluation and hopefully be able to start therapy for learning to walk again.

Funds are needed as soon as possible- Dave and his loving wife Luetta are grateful beyond measure for him to just be alive so they may be together, and any amount will help with bills, out-of-pocket expenses that Luetta’s paycheck just can’t cover, and daily living costs until Dave can return to work and get back on his feet.

Please help them reach their goal so they may get back to living and enjoying their time hiking and photographing nature.
