Good Hope: The Kathy Manis Findley Transplant Fund

Five years ago my kidneys failed suddenly. For more than a year, I struggled to live. Today I am on dialysis for 8 hours a day, every day, hoping for a kidney transplant.

I am currently scheduled to receive my kidney transplant on November 12th at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, so that means good hope for my future. Things can always go wrong, so please send positive thoughts and prayers that the transplant will happen and that all will go well.

The funds we raise will help us with the cost of housing during the month we have to remain in Jacksonville so that I can receive weekly care from Mayo, as well as for the necessary trips we will have to make in the future.

We know that this is a life-long journey and that we will face unanticipated expenses for my care along the way. My friends and family members — nearby and far away — are such an important part of my journey, and for that, I am deeply grateful.
